Jul. 30th, 2011 03:57 pmTruthfully, Beckett hadn't done much exploring of the orchard or any of the farmland surrounding the Compound. There'd been no need to sate her curiosity that way.
But there was something about being younger that fostered her desire to see new sights, to look at the things she had never really given much more than a cursory glance to in the past. It was also a place that Castle had wanted to meet, and so she was making her way through the apple trees that lined the orchard, winding her way around trunks and ducking underneath branches.
She plucked a particularly ripe apple from one tree and rubbed it off on her shorts before taking a bite, savoring the sweet fruit as she continued on. She wasn't keeping track of what time it was, or if Castle was even late, for that matter. For now, she was content to just walk.
